Indian Premier League 2023: Yashasvi Jaiswal’s Century Went Into Vain as MI Won the Match by 6 Wickets

Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals came against each other in the 42nd match of IPL 2023 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Rajasthan Royals won the toss and decided to bat first.

Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal came to bat and Cameron Green opened the bowling attack. In the 1st over, Jaiswal hit the first boundary of the match on the fourth ball. In the 4th over, Buttler hit two fours. In the 5th over, Jaiswal hit four fours and RR reached 50 runs. In the 6th over, Jaiswal finished the over with a six. After 6 overs, RR was at 65-0.

In the 8th over, Buttler got out after scoring 18(19) on the first ball and Samson hammered a six on the next ball. In the 10th over, Samson got out after scoring 14(10) on the fifth ball. In the 11th over, Jaiswal hit a four and scored a half-century and RR reached 100 runs with this four. Padikkal got out on the fifth ball after scoring 2(4). In the 12th over, Jaiswal hammered two fours. After 12 overs, RR was at 113-3.

In the 13th over, Jaiswal hit back-to-back two boundaries. In the 15th over, Holder got out after scoring 11(9) on the first ball. In the 16th over, Jaiswal hit a six and RR reached 150 runs. In the 17th over, Hetmyer hit a six and got out after scoring 8(9) on the next ball and Jaiswal finished the over with a six. In the 18th over, Dhruv Jurel got out after scoring 2(3) on the first ball and Jaiswal hammered back-to-back three fours and scored a century. In the 19th over, Jaiswal hit back-to-back two sixes. In the 20th over, Jaiswal hit back-to-back two fours and got out after scoring 124(62) on the fourth ball.

In 20 overs, Rajasthan Royals scored 212 runs with a loss of 7 wickets.

Chasing 213 runs, Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma came to bat and Trent Boult opened the bowling attack. Ishan Kishan smashed two boundaries in the first over. In the 2nd over, Rohit got out after scoring 3(5) on the last ball. In the 3rd over, Green hammered back-to-back three boundaries. In the 6th over, Ishan Kishan hit a four on the first ball and MI reached 50 runs. After 6 overs, MI was at 58-1.

In the 8th over, Green hit a six on the third ball and Ishan Kishan hit a four on the last ball. In the 9th over, Ishan Kishan got out after scoring 28(23) on the second ball and Suryakumar Yadav hit a six on the third ball. In the 10th over, Suryakumar Yadav hit back-to-back three fours. In the 11th over, MI reached 100 runs and Green got out after scoring 44(26) on the fourth ball. After 12 overs, MI was 104-3.

In the 13th over,  Suryakumar Yadav hammered back-to-back five boundaries. In the 14th over,  Suryakumar Yadav started the over with a four and Tilak Varma finished the over with a six. In the 15th over, Suryakumar Yadav took a double and scored a half-century on the first ball and he hit a four on the last ball and MI reached 150 runs. In the 16th over, Suryakumar Yadav got out after scoring 55(29) on the fourth ball. In the 18th over, Tilak Varma started the over with a four and Tim David finished the over with a four. In the 19th over, Tim David smashed two boundaries. In the 20th over, Tim David hammered back-to-back three sixes and MI won the match. MI scored 214-4 and won the match by 6 wickets.
