The teams, Central Districts and Otago faced off against each other at Saxton Oval, Nelson for the 20th match of Super Smash. With both the captains on the pitch, Central Districts won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Rutherford and Dale Phillips opened the batting attack on the bowling of Randell. In the first over, Phillips bought the first four for the side. In the 3rd over, Phillips lost his wicket to Toole after scoring 8 off 7 deliveries.
After 3 overs, OTG got a score of 18-1 and their score shifted to 41-2 after 6 overs. With Foxcroft and Johnson on the pitch, OTG reached the century, standing at a score of 50-3
With Foxcroft hitting multiple boundaries, OTG jumped to a score of 89-4. Adding 22 off 14 for the side Kwant lost his wicket to Toole and the right-handed batter, Jake Gibson came to the crease. The side crossed the century with a score of 103-5 after 14 overs.
In the 16th over, Foxcrpoft reached his 50-run stand. Fueling 66 off 49, Foxcroft got a dismissal from Clarkson.
In 20 overs, OTG boys posted 166 runs on the scoreboard with a loss of 8 wickets.
Bayley Wiggins and Ben Smith opened the batting attack on the opening bowling of Andrew Hazeldine to chase down the target of 167. In the first ball only, Wiggins crunched the first four for the side. In the 3rd over, he smacked a four and a six, getting a score of 30-1.
Adding 41 runs in 24 balls, Wiggins lost his wicket to Michael Rae in the 6th over. By the end of that over, CD crossed the half-century, standing at a score of 63-3. After 10 overs, the side jumped to a score of 87-2.
Scoring 21 in 20 balls, Ross Taylor lost his wicket to Rae. After 12 overs, CD crossed the century with a score of 104-3. With Tom Bruce hitting fours on the pitch, CD jumped to a score of 138-5.
In 20 overs, CD scored 162 runs with a loss of 9 wickets and lost the match by 4 runs.
