Top 3 Innings By Ben Stokes

English all-rounder Benjamin Stokes is one of the greatest players of the modern era and a once-in-a-generation player. If he is on the field, there are not any dull moments because he is very energetic and aggressive on the field. He is a rare breed of player who can turn the match single-handedly. Let’s see his one of the best innings.

84* Against New Zealand In the 2019 ODI World Cup Final

England and New Zealand reached the final of the 2019 ODI world cup and faced each other to win the world cup for the first time. New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first. Martin Guptil and Henry Nicholls came to open the innings, and Martin got lbw at the score of 19, and his bad form continued. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson came in 3rd position and made a partnership of 74 runs with Nicholls. Liam Plunkett breaks this partnership, and Buttler takes the catch of Kane. Wicket-keeper batsman Tom Latham contributed 47 runs and got out. Other batsmen couldn’t contribute more, and New Zealand scored 241 runs.

English opener Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow came to chase, but Roy got out on Henry’s ball. England lost the early wickets, but Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes made a partnership of 110 runs. Lockie Ferguson broke this partnership, and Buttler got out with a score of 196 after contributing 59. After the Jos Buttler wicket, it was looking impossible, but Ben Stokes kept not out and made sure his team would not lose this match. He scored 84* in the final, and the match became a tie. Both the teams came to play the super over to get the result and the super over also became the tie England won the match and world cup 2019. In the end, his innings were the difference between win and loss.

135* Against Australia In the Ashes Test

Once again a heroic inning from Ben Stokes. No one thought England would win this match, but Ben Stokes had other plans. England won the toss and elected to field first, and the English bowler made their captain’s decision right. Australia got all out at the score of 179, only David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne scored runs and hit the half centuries while other batters struggled to touch the double-digits.

In response, England got all out at the score of 67 and lagged by 112 runs. In the second inning, Australia got out by 246 runs and gave the target of 358 runs.

It was a difficult task to do, and England lost the initial wicket, and it continued. At one point of time, England was at 286/9, and it looked impossible, but Stokes was there at one end and won the match for England.

52* Against Pakistan In the T20 World 2022 Final

England has won the latest T20 world cup, and once again, Stokes comes as a savior. England won the toss and elected to field, and Pakistan scored 137/8 in the final.

It looks like an easy chase, but Pakistan has a world-class bowler, and they make sure it will not be an easy chase. Ben Stokes faced the Pakistani bowler’s difficult spell and scored 52*. England won the final and T20 world cup 2022.
