There has been a T20 series in India with the maximum number of records, the Indian Premier League (IPL). IPL has a wide array of excellent players playing in it from across the world. This league has completed its 15 years and now it’s going to play the 16th edition in 2023, March. This league is very popular among Indians. That is the reason why IPL holds a record of largest gathering in a match. This league has 10 teams that represent 7 cities and 3 states of India.  

There have been many legendary players in the IPL so far. But, we have mentioned top 5 IPL players with their highest scores recorded throughout the IPL’s seasons thus far or in their active years, in this article.

  • Chris Gayle

As people already know that there has been a Gayle-storm recorded in the Indian Premier League. Chris Gayle is an overseas player and has been playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore since his debut in IPL. He is considered as one of the best players in the team. He scored a 30-ball century in this league. He also has a record of highest scores obtained by an individual thus far in a T20 series. He has scored 175 runs in just 66 balls against Pune Warriors in April, 2013. This triumph has been on the top since then as no one is able to break it but who knows about the future.

  • Brendon Barrie McCullum

BB McCullum is a former cricket player of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL from overseas. His highest scores record got him second place in this list as he scored 158 runs in 73 balls against Royal Challenger Bangalore in the Inaugural season of IPL (April, 2008). He has achieved milestones two times in this league. 

  • Quinton de Kock

Quinton is a South-African wicket-keeper batsman for Lucknow SuperGiants. He secured third position in the highest scores by an individual in IPL. In last year (2022), he achieved a score of 140 in 70 balls in the match played against Kolkata Knight Riders. He has played for two most amazing teams in the IPL, Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore before Lucknow SuperGiants bought him in the IPL auctions. 

  • AB de Villiers

Royal Challengers Bangalore has the finest players playing in the IPL for them as AB de Villiers is the second one who got his name in this list. He is an international player, who can single handedly win any match for you. He is known for his innovative strokes and advanced strategies for batting. Therefore, he scored a number of 133 runs against the maximum title winner Mumbai Indians in just 59 balls in a match that took place in May, 2015. He has had many eye-catching winnings throughout the 15 years of Indian Premier League. 

  • Kannaur Lokesh Rahul

The first Indian player to secure his place in the record of highest scores by an individual in IPL is Kannaur Lokesh Rahul also known as KL Rahul. He is one of the finest betters of this modern era. And gaining his fan following so rapidly by his playing techniques. In 2020, when the Indian Premier League took place in Dubai, he made the highest scores in that season against Royal Challengers Bangalore while playing for Kings XI Punjab. He scored 132 runs with 69 balls in which there were 7 sixes. He was a leading player in this game as he has good knowledge of the formats of cricket.
