The teams, Canterbury and Wellington, came on the grounds of Hagley Oval, Christchurch. The former team won the toss and chose to bat first.

In 20 overs, CNTBRY registered 132 runs with a loss of 8 wickets.

For the run chase of 133, Finn Allen and Nick Kelly came to the middle on the opening bowling of Shipley. In the 2nd over, Kelly and Allen crunched two boundaries, one each. In the consecutive over, Allen slammed three boundaries and WEL got a score of 31 after 3 overs.

In the 4th over, Kelly smacked a four and two sixes and the side reached the half-century with a score, 50. Scoring 24 off 12, Kelly lost his wicket to Nuttall. After 9 overs, Allen crossed his 50-run stand and WEL boys crossed the century with a score of 106-1.

Fueling a huge run score of 78 in 37 balls, Allen got a dismissal from ORourke and the right-handed batter, Troy Johnson took the charge.

Wellington boys stood tough & brilliant and wrapped up the match only in 11.5 overs, posting 133 runs with a loss of just 2 wickets.

Wellington won the match against Canterbury by 8 wickets.
