Women Premier League 2023: Mumbai Indians Won the Match and Qualify for the Playoffs

Mumbai Indians Women and Gujarat Giants faced each other in the 12th match of WPL at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. Gujarat Giants won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Nat Sciver-Brunt and Yastika Bhatia came to bat, and Ashleigh Gardner opened the bowling attack. Matthews got out on duck in the first over. Nat Sciver-Brunt hit a four in the third over, and it was the first boundary of the match. In the 4th over, Nat Sciver-Brunt hit two fours. In the 6th over, Yastika hit back-to-back two fours. After 6 overs, MIW was at 40-1.

In the 9th over, MIW reached 50 runs. In the 10th over, Yastika hit a six on Sutherland. After 10 overs, MIW was at 64-1. In the 11th over, Nat Sciver-Brunt hit back-to-back two boundaries and got out on the next ball after scoring 36(31). In the 13th over, Yastika got out after scoring 44(37), Amelia Kerr came to bat and started with a boundary.

In the 14th over, Amelia Kerr took a single, and MIW reached 100 runs. In the 15th over, Kaur hit back-to-back two boundaries. In the 16th over, Kaur hit back-to-back two fours. In the 17th over, Amelia Kerr got out after scoring 19(13). In the 18th over, Wong got out on duck. In the 19th over, Kaur hit a six on the third ball, Humaira Kazi ran out on the fourth ball, and Kaur smashed a six on the last ball. With this six, MIW reached 150 runs. In the 20th over, Kaur hit back-to-back two fours and scored a half-century in 29 balls. Harmanpreet Kaur got out on the fourth ball after scoring 51(30), and Amanjot Kaur got out on duck on the fifth ball.

In 20 overs, Mumbai Indians Women scored 162 runs with a loss of 8 wickets.

Chasing 163 runs, Dunkley and Meghana came to bat, and Nat Sciver-Brunt opened the bowling attack. In the 1st over, Dunkley got out on the first ball without scoring any runs. In the second over, Meghana hit a four, and it was the first boundary of the second innings. In the 5th over, Harleen Deol smashed back-to-back two fours. In the 6th over, Meghana hit a four and got out on the next ball after scoring 16(17), and Sutherland got out on duck on the last ball. After 6 overs, GGT was at 34-3.

In the 9th over, Harleen Deol got out after scoring 22(23). In the 10th over, Gardner got out after scoring 8(10). After 10 overs, GGT was at 49-5. In the 11th over, Sneh Rana took a single, and Gujrat reached 50 runs. In the 12th over, Hemalatha got out after scoring 6(6). In the 15th over, Sneh Rana hit back-to-back two fours and got out on the next ball after scoring 20(19).

In the 17th over, Kim Garth got out after scoring 8(8). In the 18th over, Tanuja Kanwar got out on duck. In the 19th over, Gujarat Giants reached 100 runs. Gujarat Giants scored 107-9 and lost the match by 55 runs.
