Women’s Indian Cricket Team is Eyeing on World Cup this Season

In a country like India cricket is not just a game, it’s an emotion. Cricket is considered the most popular game in the nation. The game that initially originated in England is now played across the globe, especially in South-Asian countries and a few other post-colonial territories.

Indian women’s international team is called Women in Blue. The autonomous organization, the Board of Control for Cricket in India, governs it. As the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup approaches, the Indian team is eyeing the trophy.

Earlier this year, the Indian women’s cricket team triumphed in the Asia Cup in Bangladesh. The women in blue defeated the Sri Lankan team by eight wickets. In addition, they also won the nation’s first-ever silver medal in cricket at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham earlier this year. The way they play the game is actually surprising everyone.

The women’s cricket team is estimated to reach its peak in the next three years as they perform exceptionally well. This is what former BCCI President Sourav Ganguly stated at the 3-day annual conference ‘NATCON 2022’ held in Abu Dhabi.
