Left My Coffee As...: Axar Patel Sums Up Delhi Capitals' Batting Chaos Hilariously
Posted on April 26, 2023 by Shanker

Everyone in the Delhi Capitals' batting lineup must be prepared to bat at any time due to the current circumstances. Thanks to the tenacity of Axar Patel and Manish Pandey, DC was only able to score 144 runs in yet another low-scoring performance for the bats. Axar learned, however, that he would have to bat and come out at an inopportune moment. He had to abandon the coffee he had just brought in the process.

At the post-match presentation ceremony, Axar spoke with Harsha Bhogle and provided some open responses to some challenging issues.

When asked whether brought him greater delight, his batting or bowling results, Axar replied, "2/21 because I scored 34 in 34 so the two wickets were more important." When three wickets fell in one over, I ordered coffee and left the glass how it was. Pandey and I agreed that we should go as deep as possible."

Most hitters struggled to score runs on the Hyderabad wicket. Even Axar recognised that the surface was fairly sluggish. "It was slow, the ball was coming off slowly." I felt like me and Kuldeep could tie up the batters on this surface, so it was fun."

When asked which wicket he preferred, Mayank's or Markram's, the left-arm spinner responded Mayank's.

"I keep getting wickets in the form of knocking over batters, but getting a wicket off the slower one (Mayank's wicket) was more enjoyable," he said.

Following their victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad, the Delhi Capitals have now won two straight games. They are still at the bottom of the 10-team IPL 2023 points standings, nevertheless. They have only won 2 games in 7 games. The David Warner-led team has to win nearly all of its remaining games to be in contention for a top-4 finish, even if they are still in the running for the playoffs.
