England and Mumbai Indians bowler Jofra Archer has reportedly reacted angrily to news that he was flying to Belgium for elbow surgery during the present Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The 28-year-old further lambasted "the reporter" for disseminating information "without knowing the facts & without my consent." has been plagued by injuries in recent years and was unable to join the country's T20 World Cup squads in 2021 and 2022. Despite understanding that Archer will not participate in IPL 2022, MI signed him during the IPL super auction last year.
Only two of the five-time winners' seven games have seen Archer play, who made his MI debut against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Archer reportedly flew to Belgium in the middle of the IPL 2023 to get an elbow operation because to worries about his fitness.
However, Archer has criticised the stories and even chastised the reporter for "personal gain" in doing so.
"It's ridiculous to publish a story without asking my permission and without knowing the truth. Whoever the reporter is, shame on you. You take advantage of a player at a stressful moment for your own benefit. People like you are the problem, Archer tweeted.
