The Lanka Premier League 2022 was the 3rd edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) Twenty20 franchise cricket tournament to be held in Sri Lanka. Initial plans called for the event to occur from 31 July to 21 August 2022, with Sri Lanka Cricket stating that it would take place during the August window. Because of this tournament, the ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka was canceled. Despite this, the tournament was postponed to July 2022 due to the economic crisis in Sri Lanka. It is expected to be played later in the year. Later, the tournament was rescheduled to take place from 6 to 23 December 2022. A major objective of the tournament was to promote and boost the economy as well as international tourism.

For the 3rd edition of the tournament, former Sri Lankan opener Sanath Jayasuriya, former Pakistani fast bowling ace Wasim Akram, and former West Indian veteran batsman Viv Richards will serve as brand ambassadors.
