South Africa Tour of India, 2022 Introduction

South Africa toured India in June 2022 to play 5 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). The BCCI confirmed the schedule for the tour in September 2021. In March 2022, matches were moved from Nagpur and Bangalore to Cuttack and Visakhapatnam. During the April 2022 BCCI tour, Delhi and Bangalore will host the first and fifth T20I matches.

In this series, Rishabh Pant led the Indian Cricket Team. It was his first series as captain of India.

India missed a chance to break the record for most consecutive wins in T20Is as South Africa won by seven wickets. As a result, South Africa leads the series 2–0. In the third T20I, India won by 48 runs, giving Rishabh Pant his first win as captain. The fourth T20I was won by India by 82 runs to level the series. However, after just 3.3 overs of play, the fifth and final T20I was called off. As a result, the series ended 2-2.
