The Sri Lankan cricket team toured India in January 2023 to play three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) and three One Day Internationals (ODIs). As of December 20, 2022, the fixtures had been confirmed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). As part of this series, both teams played 3 T20Is, with India winning the first and final matches and Sri Lanka winning one. The new sensation of India, Suryakumar Yadav, remains the top run-scorer in T20Is. His fearless and calculated batting helped India win two games, and India won the series 2-1.
After the T20Is, India played 3 ODIs, which they won by a score of 3-0. King Kohli (Virat Kohli) showed his class in this ODI series, scoring 283 runs in just three matches, which helped India to whitewash Sri Lanka. The young pacers, especially Mohammed Siraj and Umraan Malik, have given their best in both formats of the series.
